During my five terms, I have worked to gain the contacts, the trust, the relationships and the knowledge required to represent each of the communities in Legislative District 18. I have visited your city council meetings, hosted town meetings, walked your neighborhoods and circulated questionnaires in an effort to understand and represent our communities' values. I have sincerely tried to be connected to the people of our communities."


Connected with Davis County Family Ties:

A resident of Davis County for 35 years, nearly all of my adult life. Raised family in West Bountiful and in Centerville. Family ties in Woods Cross, West Bountiful, Centerville, Farmington, and Kaysville. Happily married for 37 years with four grown, married children and 12 grandchildren. I recognize the importance of strong families and the preservation of family values.


Connected to the Business Community:

Retired after a 27 year career on the management team of one of Utah's largest corporations. My wife and I also created a multi-national, multi-million dollar manufacturing business, with corporate headquarters in Davis County. I have served as the chairman or board member of numerous organizations and committees. I truly understand that business, small and large, is the engine that drives our economy. I know how government impacts business' ability to prosper, not to mention its ability to survive.


Connected to the Government Process:

Served several years as a Republican delegate to County and State conventions. In the private sector, I have worked extensively with municipalities and with state & federal regulatory agencies. Elected to five terms in the Utah House of Representatives and chaired or served on many legislative committees and taskforces. Served on the Legislative Negotiation team to reach agreement on construction of the Legacy Parkway. I understand the "system".
